Game Preview
After defeating USC Upstate in the ASUN Quarterfinals, the Owls have FGCU next on Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. in Fort Myers, Fla.
 
FGCU defeated Kennesaw State earlier this season in Alico Arena.
 
Scouting FGCU
The Eagles racked up the post-season awards as Demetris Morant won ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, Brandon Goodwin won Newcomer of the Year and Joe Dooley won Coach of the year.
 
Goodwin has led the team averaging 17.9 points per game. He averaged 22.0 points per game in the two games against the Owls earlier this season.
 
ASUN Tournament History
Kennesaw State got their second win in ASUN Championship history over USC Upstate on Monday night with an 80-78 victory.
 
Their first victory came in 2010, when KSU topped the top seed Lipscomb.
 
With a win on Thursday against FGCU, the Owls would reach their first ASUN Championship game in program history.
 
All-Conference Members
The Owls had three student-athletes honored by the ASUN.
 
Kendrick Ray became the first player in Kennesaw State history to make First Team All-Conference after he averaged 20.9 points per game through the regular season.
 
Aubrey Williams was named Second Team All-Conference after being the only player in the ASUN to average a double-double with 13.3 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game.
 
James Scott was voted onto the ASUN All-Freshmen Team after averaging 9.2 points per game in 16 minutes of action. He is the fifth Owl all time to make the All-Freshmen team and first since 2010.
 
Super Senior
Ray is currently second in the ASUN averaging 21.0 ppg. He has scored at least 20 points in 18 of the 31 games this season and has four 30-point performances. Last season, he had two 30-point games giving him six for his career.
 
Ray became the first KSU player in history to be named ASUN First Team All-Conference.
 
Against USC Upstate in the ASUN Quarterfinals, Ray scored 18 points in the second half to help guide the Owls to a two-point victory over the Spartans.
 
Success on the Road
The Owls have six wins on the road this season, which is the most since the team joined Division I. In ASUN action, the team is 5-4 winning three of their last four games on the road.
 
Dropping Dimes
Against USC Upstate, the Owls had 19 assists to only eight turnovers.
 
The Owls are second in the ASUN in assists per game averaging 15.9 through the 32 games.
 
In conference play, Kennesaw State leads the ASUN in assist to turnover ratio at 1.3 as they average the 16.1 assists per game and 12.3 turnovers per game.
