Preview
The Owls will look to close out their three-game home stand with a win against the Samford Bulldogs.
The two teams have played each other twice before with each team getting a split winning on their home floor.
After this game, KSU will get a break for the holidays until December 28 against Mercer.
Promotions
Kennesaw State is offering a ticket deal to all first responders (Police, Fire, EMTs) along with Cobb EMC and Georgia Power employees for their hard work during the snow storm to keep the local community safe. All tickets will be $7 for those who present their Staff/Employee I.D. at the ticket window. This deal will be for the next five home men's basketball games.
Tough Non-Conference Schedule
Through the first 10 games of the season, Kennesaw State has played five teams in the top 100 based on RPI rankings and Georgia Southern will be the sixth.
Out of those six opponents in the top 100, Butler, Florida State and Texas Tech are all in the top 50.
Playing at Home
The Owls are 2-2 at home this season defeating Piedmont and Bethune-Cookman while losing to Tennessee State in overtime.
Over the past two seasons, KSU has had a winning on their home court going 17-12 overall.
This season, Kennesaw State has averaged 74.5 points per game, which is seven points more than their season average.
Masterson Does it All
Nick Masterson is making 58.7 percent of his threes despite other defenses keying on him in the Owls offense. At home, he's even better as he is 15-22 from behind the arc and making a staggering 68.2 percent.
In the last game against Georgia Southern, he was 6-7 from the outside. The six threes were a season high for Masterson.
He also leads the team in assists with 39. Against Georgia Southern, he had five assists to go along with his team leading 23 points.
Scott Leads the Way on Offense
James Scott has stepped up on the offensive end leading the team averaging 16.9 points per game. He has scored in double figures in nine of the 11 games so far and has three twenty-point games.
As a team, there have been five games where a player has scored at least 20 points and he has three of those games.
