Scouting Texas Tech
Texas Tech is off to a great start to their 2017-18 season sitting at 7-1 to start the season.
They have beaten two teams ranked in the top 25 with its only loss coming to Seton Hall in Madison Square Garden.
Keenan Evans leads Texas Tech averaging 17.9 points per game.
Chris Beard is in his second season with the Red Raiders.
Scott Leads the Way on Offense
James Scott has stepped up on the offensive end leading the team averaging 16.1 points per game. He has scored in double figures in seven of the eight games so far and has two twenty-point games.
Scott has led the team in scoring in five games this season.
On the Road
Through November, Kennesaw State only played at home two times as opposed to seven road games.
After playing Texas Tech, the Owls will get to play on their home floor as six of their next seven games are at home beginning with Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, December 16.
Masterson Does it All
Nick Masterson is making 56.3 percent of his threes despite other defenses keying on him in the Owls offense. He's right under the minimum amount of shots to be officially ranked, but that 56.3 mark would be the third best in the country.
Despite them limiting his shots, he still leads KSU in assists and steals in the early going this season as well.
Playing Around With the Starting Lineup
Al Skinner has used three different starting lineups through the eight games this season.
In the past three games, Skinner has inserted
Tyler Hooker into the starting lineup and it has paid off. Against Washington, Hooker led the team in almost every statistical category except points.
He had a career high eight assists against the Huskies.
