STORYLINE
After committing nine turnovers in the first quarter to trail 20-8 after 10 minutes, the Owls began to find their legs in the second quarter, connecting on 7-of-11 field goal attempts and outscoring the Blue Hose, 18-3 in the period to cut the deficit to 33-26 at halftime.
Â
Ignited by its defense and better ball control in the second half, Kennesaw State closed out the game on a 19-1 over the final 5:56. The Owls held the Blue Hose scoreless the final 4:26 and, led by Street's defensive efforts, forced five turnovers over the final six minutes.

QUOTING THE COACH
"I was very pleased with the team's effort. We settled down after the first half and I was happy with how our defense played," head coach
Agnus Berenato said. "In the first quarter and first half we shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers, but we had a good game plan and were able to hold their top scorer (Cortney Storey), who was averaging 20 points a game, to just five tonight.
Â
"I thought Iceis (Walker) did a great job defensively against their top scorer, and Clara (Young) and Kamiyah also did a really good job on the defensive end for us," Berenato added. "We're learning and our goal was to be better than we were against Furman (on Saturday) and continue to improve and learn how to play at this level."
