MBB: Owls Fall at Hofstra

Jankovic Gets First Start and Leads Team With 15 Points

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. 
 – Kennesaw State dropped its second game of the season to Hofstra in Hempstead, New York, 75-57 in the Mack Sports Complex on Monday, November 13.
 
Kosta Jankovic got his first career start and he led the Owls with 15 points and seven rebounds. Kyle Clarke was the other Owl in double-figures with 12 points.
 
The Owls struggled to find an offensive rhythm shooting 30 percent from the floor in the game.
 
Nick Masterson and Jankovic kept the score close most of the first half with each player scoring eight points each. Hofstra used a run late to get their lead into double digits.
 
The Owls forced Hofstra into 15 turnovers in the game, but couldn't get enough shots to fall to threaten Hofstra's double-digit lead in the second half.
 
The Owls will now get to play in their first home game of the season against Piedmont on Thursday, November 13 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.

  • Kennesaw State had a different starting lineup against Hofstra with Kyle Clarke, Nick Masterson, James Scott, Kosta Jankovic and Jordan Jones. Bryson Lockley was out with an injury pushing Jankovic in for his first career start.
  • The Owls trailed by 14 on the road at Hofstra at halftime. The team was led by Masterson and Jankovic at the break with eight points.
  • Isaac Mbuyamba scored his first points of the season in the final minute of the first half on a tip in. For the game, he went 3 for 4 finishing with six points in 23 minutes. Mbuyamba also had a career high nine rebounds.
  • The Owls had nine assists in the game and only committed eight turnovers.
