Game Preview
Kennesaw State looks to get its first win of the season at Hofstra on Monday, November 13. The Owls currently sit at 0-1 after dropping its opening game of the 2017-18 season at Butler.

The Pride got off to a good start beating Army 77-74 at home last Friday night.

First Meeting Between the Teams
This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

The last Colonial team that the Owls played was at Elon two seasons ago. KSU lost a tough game in overtime to the Phoenix.

Scouting Hofstra
The Pride got a big 77-74 win to start the season over Army on the opening night of college basketball.
Â
Justin Wright-Foreman had a huge night scoring 25 points and assisting on five more field goals in 40 minutes of action.
Â
Hofstra out rebounded Army by eight in the game and went 19-21 from the free throw line.
Â
Skinner Returns for Third Season
Al Skinner enters his third season as head coach of Kennesaw State. Last season, the team posted the most wins KSU has ever had in the Division I era with 14 and secured its first ASUN Tournament victory at USC Upstate since 2010.

He hit a milestone a season ago against N.C. A&T notching his 400th career victory as a head coach.

Three Starters Return from Last Year
Kennesaw State returns eight letter winners from a season ago including three starters.

The three starters are
Jordan Jones,
Nick Masterson and
Kyle Clarke. Along with the returners are
James Scott. He was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team a season ago after averaging 8.5 points per game.

Scott Gets Hot
James Scott got off to a slow start against Butler, but led Kennesaw State in the second half scoring 22 of his 26 points. The Owls outscored Bulter 40-34 in the second half with Scott scoring 22 of those points.

Last season, he became the first KSU player to be named to the All-Freshmen Team since Delbert Love in 2010.

Preseason All-Conference
Nick Masterson was named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team after being deadly from long range last season finishing second in the country with a mark of 54.1 from three-point range. He was even better in conference play making 57.1 percent of his outside shots and produced an offensive rating of 136.1.

Masterson hit a three in 29 of 31 games and hit at least two threes in all but seven games last season.

Picked to Finish Fifth
Kennesaw State was picked to finish fifth in the ASUN Coaches Poll and the ASUN Media Poll. In Skinner's first two seasons, the team was picked to finish seventh.

Last season, the Owls finished in a tie for fourth at the end of the season.

New Look
Kennesaw State will have two new jerseys this season with a gray and a black jersey to go along with their white and gold jerseys.
Â
The black jersey has sleaves on it making KSU one of two schools in the country to have one of its primary road jerseys to have sleeves. The other school is with a primary jersey with sleeves on it is Northwestern State.
Â
Not only do the Owls have new jerseys this season, but KSU will be playing on a new court this season with the KS logo in the center of the floor.

Spark Off the Bench
Facing an early deficit against Butler,
Tyler Hooker and
Tristan Jarrett provided a boost off the bench.
Â
The two combined for 22 points with Jarrett having 15 and Hooker having seven.
Â
It was Jarrett's first collegiate action.
