Game Preview
After going 3-0 at home to start ASUN play, Kennesaw State has a first place showdown with Jacksonville on Friday at 4 p.m. on the road.
 
The match was originally scheduled to be played at Historic Swisher Gymnasium, but due to damage from Hurricane Irma, the match will be played at UNF Arena.
 
Saturday night, KSU will play the 0-3 North Florida Ospreys in UNF Arena at 7 p.m.
 
KSU swept the two teams last season clinching its share of the ASUN Regular Season Championship against Jacksonville.
 
Kennesaw State Team Notes
• Kennesaw State is off to a 3-0 start for the second season in a row after sweeping FGCU and Stetson. Overall, it was the teams sixth sweep of the season and first against FGCU since 2013.
• The Owls strong play throughout this season hasn't gone unnoticed as they landed in the NIVC Mid-Major Poll at the 25.
• KSU is 6-0 at home this season averaging 861 fans per match in the KSU Convocation Center. The Owls are 2-2 on the road picking up sweeps at Clemson and at St. Louis.
• The Owls are first in the ASUN in opponent hitting percentage holding their opponents to a .170 average. The team is second overall in hitting percentage at .244. Jacksonville is third in hitting percentage at .189.
• Katarina Morton was the second player in Kennesaw State history and the 10th player in ASUN history to pass the 1,500 dig mark. She currently sits at 1,639 career digs and is 44 digs away from setting a Kennesaw State career record in digs.
• Anaiah Boyer and Maddie Jones have spear headed an attack for the Owls that is second in the ASUN in hitting percentage at .244. Jones leads the team with 126 kills and Boyer is right behind her with 110. They're both in the top 10 in kills per set in the ASUN as Boyer is fifth averaging 3.24 and Jones is seventh averaging 3.07.
• Over the past two seasons, Kennesaw State is 15-2 in the regular season against ASUN opponents.
• Liesl Engelbrecht is second in the ASUN hitting .357 overall. She is third on the team in kills with 100 on the season. She also has 29 blocks on the season.
 
Next Up
Kennesaw State will return home to host USC Upstate on Friday, October 13 at 7 p.m. for the third annual Griffin's Game. The team is fundraising money for David Sannuti and his family.
