Quotable
Director of Track and Field Andy Eggerth
"Second and thrid place finishes for the women and men, respectively, is not too bad when competing against more than 20 teams. However, this is well short of our capabilities. Hopefully this opens the eyes of our men to understand that they are not invincible simply because their predecessors were.  It's difficult with such young teams because so many people have to learn from their own experiences rather than from the advice of those who have been there before. Perhaps losing is what is needed when being good and being satisfied with good is the enemy of being great. In my book second place isn't good enough and we will challenge each member of the team to up their game.
Â
This was a very productive competition. We did a lot of problem solving; finding weaknesses and deficiencies so we can focus on improving those aspects that will make us better the fastest. We certainly had some success with several personal records and event wins and we want to celebrate those successes. We just cannot be satisfied with them."

Next Up
