Game Preview
After a tough loss to open conference play against Lipscomb, Kennesaw State returns home to host the defending ASUN Champions FGCU Eagles.
 
Last season, the Owls took on the Eagles three times, but couldn't get over the hump losing in three tightly contested matchups. Overall, FGCU has a 13-6 edge in the matchup winning 11 straight against KSU.
 
Promotions
Thursday night is Student Appreciation Night. One student will win a semester of FREE books courtesy of the KSU Bookstore. To be eligible to win students must be decked out in their most spirited gear. The fans will vote on the top 4 most spirited students via Twitter. Valid KSU ID required.
 
Students will also be able to win win $500 from Carl Black of Kennesaw (carlblackkennesaw.com) in a free throw shooting contest as well as cash from Fifth Third Bank (53.com).

Tickets for students are FREE to every home game for all Kennesaw State sports.

SCOUTING FGCU
After winning the ASUN a season ago, FGCU has had a newcomer step up and be one of their most dynamic players in Brandon Goodwin. He leads the Eagles in points per game, assists and steals.
 
As a team, FGCU holds their opponents to the lowest scoring average in the ASUN at 69.9 points per game.
 
Holding a 12-5 record, Gulf Coast is ranked 22nd in the College Insider Mid Major Poll.
 
LOU HENSON AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST
After being named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team, Kendrick Ray was selected to the Lou Henson Preseason Watch List. The Lou Henson award goes to the nation's top mid-major player.
 
Ray is currently first in the ASUN and seventh in the nation averaging 22.6 ppg. He has scored at least 20 points in 11 of the 17 games this season and has four 30-point performances.
 
STRONG PLAY AT HOME
The Owls haven't played a lot at home, but when they have they have played well. The team is 4-2 in the KSU Convocation Center so far this season.
 
The Owls averaged 77.2 points per game on their home court with Ray averaging 24.2.
 
Freshmen Boosting Bench Play
Johannes Nielsen has scored in double figures four times and shoots at an incredibly consistent rate going 43-68 from the floor making 63.2 percent of his shots. Against N.C. A&T, Nielsen scored eight of his 11 points in the final four minutes to help the Owls secure the victory.
 
In eight games, James Scott is averaging 9.8 points per game and has scored in double figures four times in 17 minutes per game. Per 40 minutes of action, Scott is averaging 22.9 points per game.
 
Sharing the Ball
In five of the last six games, Kennesaw State has had more assists than turnovers.
 
Against North Georgia and Lipscomb, the Owls had a season high 21 assists. Overall, KSU has had over 20 assists in four games this season.
