Game Preview
After playing three straight home games, the Owls will hit the road one last time in non-conference play. The team will take on a 9-4 Tennessee State team.
Lou Henson Preseason Watch List
After being named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team,
Kendrick Ray was selected to the Lou Henson Preseason Watch List. The Lou Henson award goes to the nation's top mid-major player.
Ray is currently first in the ASUN and ninth in the nation averaging 22.7 ppg. He has scored at least 20 points in nine of the 14 games this season and has four 30-point performances.
Freshmen Boosting Bench Play
Johannes Nielsen has been a consistent boost off the bench this season for the Owls. He has scored in double figures four times and shoots at an incredibly consistent rate going 39-59 from the floor making 66.1 percent of his shots. Against N.C. A&T, Nielsen scored eight of his 11 points in the final four minutes to help the Owls secure the victory.
Another freshmen making a big impact is
James Scott. In six games, he is averaging 9.2 points per game and has scored in double figures three times in around 17 minutes per game.
Per 40 minutes of action, Scott is averaging 20.8 points per game.
Free Throws
The Owls take advantage at the free throw line shooting .725 as a team. There are seven players with over a 70 percent clip from the line and three over 80 percent.
Sharing the Ball
In the last four games, Kennesaw State has had more assists than turnovers.
Against North Georgia, the Owls had a season high 21 assists to only 13 turnovers. Against Mercer a game before, the team had a season low in turnovers committing only six.
Dynamic Offensive Duo
Nick Masterson and Ray have been quite the offensive duo this season. The two are averaging 34.8 points per game.
The two have combined to make 83 of the team's 94 three pointers this season.
