Kennesaw State Team Notes
• The Owls are playing in the Georgia Challenge this week against three in-state schools. Last season, Kennesaw State went 5-0 beating Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Savannah State and Mercer.
• For the season,
Katarina Morton leads the ASUN with 163 digs averaging 5.83 per set. The 5.83 per set is currently sixth best in the country and her 163 digs is third most in the country. She was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week after the opening weekend.
• After spending a weekend at Texas State and a midweek match against Auburn, Morton finished with 95 digs averaging 5.9 per set for the week. She posted 20-plus digs in three of the four matches and had 30 against Stephen F. Austin. It is the third time in her career that she has had at least 30 digs in a match.
• The 30 digs in the four-set match against Stephen F. Austin set a Kennesaw State record for digs in a four-set match. The previous high was 27 set by Camille Pedraza. Morton tied that number earlier in the season against Liberty.
•
Anaiah Boyer had a big weekend for the Owls finishing with 41 kills to lead the team. She had her first double-double of the season posting 20 kills and 12 digs to go along with five blocks. The 20 kills is the most in a match by an Owl this season and is a new career high for Boyer.
• Sophomore
Liesl Engelbrecht continues her great start to the season as she leads the team with 25.0 blocks and five service aces.
 • Georgia will be the third SEC team that the Owls play this season. The other two matches against Missouri and Auburn have both been five setters where the Owls held leads in both matches.
•
Kristi Piedimonte finished out the Crests and Creeds Classic with 48 assists against Stephen F. Austin averaging 12.0 assists per set. In the first match of the weekend, Piedimonte had 40 assists and 19 digs. It was her third double-double of the season.
• Through seven matches, Kennesaw State is second in the ASUN with 1.86 blocks per set. Engelbrecht and
Amariah Boyer both lead the way in blocks as Engelbrecht leads the team with 25.0 and Boyer has 18.0.
