HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: Stephen F. Austin took a four-point lead at 17-13 and the Owls responded behind Anaiah Boyer and Kelly Marcinek to take a lead at 22-21. The Ladyjacks then closed out the set on a 4-1 run to take a 1-0 lead. Morton continued her great defensive play as she had 11 digs in the opening set.

Second Set: Trailing in the match, the Owls got to 20 first with a four-point lead, but Stephen F. Austin stormed back with a 9-2 run to steal the set away from Kennesaw State and put the Owls in a hole trailing two sets to none.

SCHUNZEL QUOTE:
"Obviously a tough weekend for us. While we had good moments in all three matches, we have a long way to go to being where we want to be. Most of all, we need to make some big strides on the offensive side of the ball before we play again next weekend. We are not killing the ball nearly efficiently enough from enough different attackers. That starts with our passers and setter and then to our hitters to find ways to terminate the ball.

Our team has plenty of talent necessary to play at a consistently high level, but everyone at this level has talent and everyone has good athletes.Only elite teams have the mental toughness required to consistently play one point at a time, set after set, match after match. We can be an elite team, but are certainly not there yet and have to keep making improvements."
