THE STORYLINE:
· After a grueling physical match on Friday night against Missouri, the Owls went 1-1 against Liberty and Pittsburgh on Saturday, August 27 in the Kennesaw State Invitational.
· Katarina Morton was the Kennesaw State player named to the All-Tournament team after accumulating 68 digs on the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· KSU opened the day against the Liberty Flames and after starting slow, Kennesaw State responded behind attackers Amariah Boyer and Sydni Shelton. Boyer finished the match with 13 kills and four blocks, while Shelton had nine kills. After dropping the opening set, the Owls won three straight to get their first win of 2016.
 · In the final game of the tournament, Kennesaw State took on Pittsburgh and struggled to get anything going against the Panthers as they beat the Owls 3-0.

SCHUNZEL QUOTE:
"We knew this was going to be a challenge coming into the weekend and we showed a lot of really positive signs of the team we can be and the level we can play at. We grinded hard against a good Liberty team this morning and ran out of juice mentally and physically against a really good Pittsburgh team. We learned a lot about ourselves this weekend."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Katarina Morton tied a school record with 27 digs in the four-set match against Liberty.
 · For the weekend, the Owls averaged 890 fans in the three matches.
· Amariah Boyer led the team in kills in both matches on Saturday and finished the weekend with 19 overall.
