Long Jump Final Results
EUGENE, Ore. Redshirt senior
Andre Dorsey competed in the high jump at the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field on Friday concluding his outstanding collegiate career in an Owl uniform.
"Well, it wasn't what we hoped for Andre's final collegiate meet but it was one heck of a ride," Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Andy Eggerth said. "Andre is irreplaceable. Fortunately this isn't his last meet as we plan to be back here in a couple weeks for the Olympic trials."
Dorsey cleared the bar at 2.09m (6'10.25) which was good for his fourth highest jump of the season and a tie for 22
nd place finish in the event. He ends his impressive collegiate career in the outdoor high jump holding the school-record of 2.17m (7'1.5) set earlier this season, in a tie for the conference meet record, and four of the top10 farthest jumps in school history.
Dorsey ends his collegiate career a 16-time Atlantic Sun Individual Champion, a five time USTFCCCA Second Team All-American, and a 27-time All-Conference selection. He holds multiple school records and was named ASUN Championship Most Valuable Performer five times. He will also leave KSU having been a part of a senior class that led KSU to eight straight ASUN men's conference championship titles.
Eggerth and the men's and women's track and field teams will now begin to focus on training for the 2016-17 seasons which gets underway with cross country events in the fall.
