Sturgis' Birthday Party
Join Kennesaw State Athletics in celebrating the 3rd birthday of our live mascot, Sturgis!  The party will begin at 5 p.m. inside Stillwell Stadium. There will be party favors, hats, cupcakes, and the opportunity to take photos with Sturgis!

Two-Way Guy
- Chris Erwin continues to prove his two-way player value for head coach Mike Sansing, being named Atlantic Sun Co-Pitcher of the Week.
- Erwin earned his first career A-Sun Pitcher of the Week award.
- Threw a career-high 8.1 innings in a 2-1 win in the conference opener against North Florida
- Worked four 1-2-3 frames allowing just four total hits
- Allowed just one unearned run to the Ospreys
- Lowered his season ERA to 5.36 while upping his strikeout total to 34
- Threw 124 pitches, 79 for strikes with seven strikeouts
- The lefty has made a difference at the plate offensively as well, ranking 13th in the ASUN and second on the roster with a .323 batting average.
- Erwin ranks fourth on the team with 30 hits in 23 games.
- The lefty has eight extra base hits and a team-high 18 RBI.
· Chris Erwin is the first Owl to hit two home runs in a single game since Andy Chriscaden on March 28, 2012.
 
Helms Leading The Way
- Sophomore Griffin Helms is leading the team with .385 batting average.
- Helms has played in 23 games with 16 starts this season, totaling one home run and nine RBI, and .442 slugging percentage.
- Helms ranks fifth on the team with 20 hits and has scored 14 runs.
 
Strong Start To Conference Play
- The Owls jumped out to a 2-1 mark in conference play last weekend, hosting North Florida for a three-game series.
- In the series, the Owls hit .283 as a team with 14 runs on 26 hits. KSU totaled six extra base hits and a .391 slugging percentage and a .355 on-base percentage.
- In the series, Richard Lovelady and Gabe Friese picked up wins on the bump, while Chris Erwin tossed a career-high 8.1 innings on Friday night.

Falling In Love
- Richard Lovelady had arguably his best outing as an Owl last Tuesday night against Georgia in Athens, Ga.
- Lovelady threw 2.1 innings, striking out six batters while earning his first save under Mike Sansing. 
- For the season, Lovelady leads the team in appearances (19) and ranks first amongst relievers with 29 strikeouts in 22.2 innings.
- Opponents are hitting just .188 against the lefty, allowing 15 hits during his time on the bump.
 
Bullpen Action
- Head Coach Mike Sansing has seen a total of six relievers make 10 or more appearances out of the bullpen.
- Behind Richard Lovelady's team-high 19 appearances, Brock Turner (16), Logan Hutchinson (15), Erich Stahl (13), Drew Reeves (11) and Mason Ward (10) have all made big impacts.
- Erich Stahl leads the team with four saves and a 2.63 ERA.
- Brock Turner tossed a scoreless inning at Georgia Tech on Wednesday evening, not allowing a run or a hit.
