KENNESAW, Ga. – Last Friday, April 22, members of the men's basketball team, volleyball team, men's golf team and women's golf team visited Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital.
The teams were divided into four groups and visited different parts of the hospital to try and bring smiles and briefly bring joy to different patients and their families around the hospital.
"I'm so happy our team and other teams took the time and got to see the impact they can make when they go down to visit kids and their families at Scottish Rite," head coach
Keith Schunzel said. "The children and families who are being treated at that amazing place are going through life-altering and traumatic times and the least we can do is drive down and try to help in any small way we can. Unfortunately, from first-hand experience, Bri and I know what a smile, laugh, kind words or hug can do to lift up a child's spirits or give a bit of comfort to a family, even if it's for a short amount of time. All of our hectic and "important" lives seem a whole lot less so when you're looking into the eyes of a sick kid or family going through heartache."
