THE STORYLINE:
·Georgia Southern used six pitchers to hold off Kennesaw State, taking a 4-1 final at Stillwell Stadium on Tuesday night in a mid-week clash.
· In a pitchers' duel, the Eagles' staff out-dueled KSU's Tony Dibrell – who tossed a career-high 11 strikeouts and tied his career-high in innings pitched for his outing.
· With the loss, KSU dropped to 20-22 overall, while Georgia Southern improved to 25-17 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Dibrell, an Alpharetta, Ga. native, had a career night, tying his longest outing in his career in which he worked 7.0 frames throughout the mid-week contest.
· The righty tossed 115 pitches in which 66 were thrown for strikes – 58 percent of his pitches were in the strike zone.
· Dibrell, in fact, threw for three 1-2-3 innings and did not allow a hit after the fourth inning keeping the Eagles off-balanced in the batter's box.
· The righty also recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in his seven frames, retiring five of the last six hitters.
· Even with Dibrell rolling on the bump, Georgia Southern managed to produce two runs –one in the second and one in the fourth—to take a slight 2-0 lead.
· The Owls finally broke the Eagles' pitching staff's shutout bid in the sixth, as Chris Erwin's two-out RBI single up the middle knocked home Grant Williams to cut the deficit in half at 2-1.
· Georgia Southern extended its lead to two once more with an RBI triple in the eighth to take a 3-1 lead.
·  The lead proved to be enough as the Eagles added an insurance run in the ninth to take a 4-1 final.
