Series History
- Winner of six straight conference games and sitting in first place in the Atlantic Sun, Kennesaw State hosts Lipscomb this weekend at Stillwell Stadium.
- The Owls are 17-14 all-time versus the Bison, including a series win last season in Nashville.

Strike Out Hunger
- KSU, in conjunction with Fifth Third Bank (Georgia), have announced plans to kick off the annual Strike Out Hunger food drive. The community food drive will take place Tuesday, April 26 at KSU when the Owls take on Georgia Southern at Stillwell Stadium with first pitch set for 6 p.m.
- Fifth Third Bank will also donate $53 to the CARE Center for every strike out pitched by a KSU pitcher during the game.

Owls Rolling
- The Owls have been playing their best baseball of the 2016 season as of late, reeling off seven straight victories before dropping a mid-week clash with Jacksonville State Tuesday night.
- During the stretch, KSU has swept back-to-back Atlantic Sun series against NJIT and USC Upstate, and a mid-week clash against SEC foe Auburn – marking the first victory in program history over Auburn at Stillwell Stadium.
- Over the last eight games, the Owls are batting .281 (79-for-281) with 10 doubles and six homers for 49 RBI.
- Kennesaw State has outscored opponents 54-43 over the stretch and has out-hit opponents 79-78 to help go 7-0.
- The Owls' 8-1 start to conference play is the best nine-game start to conference play since KSU turned Division I in 2006.
 
Heating Up For May
- The Owls have, in fact, gone 9-3 in the month of April – marking the best month by a landslide for KSU in 2016.
- Kennesaw State us batting .272 (110-404) with 15 doubles, one triple and eight home runs while totaling 64 RBI.
- KSU has outscored opponents 70-61 during the stretch and has out-hit opponents 110-107.
- The Owls are slugging .374 and has compiled a .352 on-base percentage.
 
Up, Up and Away
- Austin Upshaw hit his sixth and seventh home runs of the season over the weekend series against NJIT and continued his hot streak into last week.  
- The sophomore is currently on a eight-game hitting streak, where he has totaled at least two hits in every game, except for Tuesday's contest (one hit)
- Upshaw highlighted his streak with a four-hit performance against USC Upstate on Friday night in the series opener – marking a career high.  
- Over the last seven games, Upshaw is batting .552 with nine RBI and two homers, including a team-high 16 hits.  
- In fact, Upshaw batted .667 (10-15) over his last four games and hit an incredible .727 (8-for-10) against USC Upstate, helping the Owls stay unbeaten in seven games.
 
Bullpen Action
- The Owls' bullpen has rounded into form over the last seven games, totaling a .371 ERA and a 7-0 record over the win streak.
- Richard Lovelady has been one of the catalyst in the backend for the Owls, making six appearances and has allowed no runs on just six hits. Lovelady has seven strikeouts and hitters have totaled just a .207 batting average against.
- Overall, Lovelady is 3-3 with a 3.52 ERA in a team-high 25 appearances, while totaling 36 punch out – which ranks third on the team.   
- Erich Stahl has settled in as well, totaling 18 appearances and a team-high six saves. Stahl holds a 2.95 ERA in 18.1 innings of work.
- Logan Hutchinson leads the bullpen with a 5-1 record, ranking second on the team with 19 appearances and has totaled a 3.50 ERA.
 
Weekend Series vs. Lipscomb
- At 8-1 in A-Sun play, KSU can equal the best start after four league series since 2014 when Lipscomb and Mercer both opened with 10-2 marks. The Bisons would continue to a 12-2 A-Sun record after 14 games.
- The Owls swept their last two series including USC Upstate on the road last weekend and NJIT at Stillwell Stadium. Kennesaw State claimed the series win vs. Lipscomb last year in Nashville, 2-1.
- KSU's seven-game win streak was snapped on Tuesday in a 10-2 loss at Jacksonville State. It was the longest streak of 2016 for an A-Sun squad.
- Austin Upshaw collected his second A-Sun Player of the Week accolade on Monday after batting .667 last week with 10 hits. He tallied four multi-hit games including a 4-4 effort in the series opener at USC Upstate.
- The Owls have won four-straight games at home and six of their last seven after opening the year with a 7-12 mark at Stillwell Stadium.
- Richard Lovelady's 25 appearances are tops in the A-Sun and are tops in the A-Sun and second-most in the NCAA. He owns a 3-3 record, 3.52 ERA & three saves. In league play, he is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 10.1 IP and seven appearances.
- Kennesaw State is tied with USC Upstate with 73 strikeouts by their pitching staff in A-Sun play. The Owls have fanned 313 batters in 2016.
