HOW IT HAPPENED:
· KSU's Friese, a Kennesaw, Ga. native, set the tone on the mound, working 6.0 solid innings in his outing. · The righty allowed eight hits and four runs (three earned) while striking out seven Osprey hitters.
· Friese threw 67 percent of his pitches for strikes and issued just one walk in the solid performance.
· The Owls backed Friese's two scoreless frames to begin the ballgame by plating six in their first two at-bats and never trailed in the second game of the series.
· The Owls plated the first run of the ballgame, wasting no time in the bottom of the first with an RBI single off the bat of Austin Upshaw to give KSU a 1-0 edge.
· The offensive momentum continued in the second, as the Owls produced five runs on five hits in the bottom half of the second to take a 6-0 advantage.
· Kennesaw State, who entered the game outscoring opponents 31-12 in the second frame, got key contributions with a RBI from Corey Greeson, Griffin Helms, Jeremy Howell and a two-run double off the bat of Chris Erwin.
· The Owls scored four more runs on six hits for the remainder of the game, including a crooked two in the bottom of the sixth to help give KSU its largest lead of the game at 9-2.
· Richard Lovelady came into the game and worked 2.2 innings out of the bullpen and allowed no runs and no hits to shut the door and secure the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
·  For the 17th time this season, the Owls have totaled 10 or more hits in a game this season.
· Chris Erwin has tallied three doubles over the last three games, and has eight total extra base hits this season.
· The Owls improved to 11-4 when scoring the first run of the ballgame.
· Kennesaw State have scored at least 10 runs in five games this season.

QUOTABLE:
"Anytime you can win the series after the first two games is huge, and I told our guys we got a streak going. Chris (Erwin) and Gabe (Friese) threw extremely well and it's good to see them go deep into a ballgame. We had a good approach at the plate and we had to continue to get key runs throughout the game."
--Head Coach Mike Sansing
