SPECIAL GUESTS: The Kennesaw State baseball team will host a 12-and-under baseball team from Russia as well as a group from Japan, attending Friday's game. Tge baseball team and the youth group from Japa will both take a tour of the softball/baseball facility as well as participate in the Anthem Buddies promotion on the field with members of the KSU baseball squad. 

The Japanese group is here, visiting this region as a partnership between a Christian Sports Mission group in Woodstock, Georgia and a local church in Japan. Most of this group has been greatly affected and displaced by the tsunami in 2012. These kids were active in baseball.\

Erwin's Hot Bat
- Chris Erwin continues to make a difference at the top of the lineup for Mike Sansing, batting .350 (7-for-20) over his last four games.
- Four of his seven hits have been for extra base hits, including two doubles at Tennessee Tech and a career-best two home runs in a single game against Towson.
- The lefty is slugging .750 and has a .381 on-base percentage over those four games, walking four times and also has a team-best five RBI during that span.
· Chris Erwin is the first Owl to hit two home runs in a single game since Andy Chriscaden on March 28, 2012.
 
Helms' Hot Bat, Part II
- Sophomore Griffin Helms has backed Erwin's bat, totaling a .857 batting average (6-for-7) in two games over the Owls' last five contests.
- Helms is making the most of his opportunities in the lineup, totaling his first home run of the season against Tennessee Tech (second of his career), and has three RBI in those two games.
- Helms, for the season, is batting a team-high .409 (18-for-44) with a HR, eight RBI and a .477 slugging percentage.
 
Getting Offensive
- Over the last five games, the Owls are batting .302 as a team, totaling 14 extra base hits and 29 RBI.
- The Owls have five home runs during that span and three triples, as well as six doubles as part of a 55 hit outburst during the stretch.
- KSU is slugging .451 and has totaled a .376 on-base percentage over the last five games.
- Overall, the Owls are batting .287 in 26 games this season, totaling 66 extra base hits, including 22 home runs which ranks second behind North Florida.
 
Ranks In The ASUN
- KSU ranks third in the league in batting average, .286, behind Jacksonville and North Florida.
- The Owls rank fourth in SLG% (.412)
-  Kennesaw State is third in the league in runs scored (159)
- Ranks second in the league in total hits (263)
- Second in home runs (22) behind North Florida's 26
- Ranks first in innings pitched (234.0O
 
Falling In Love
- Richard Lovelady had arguably his best outing as an Owl last Tuesday night against Georgia in Athens, Ga.
- Lovelady threw 2.1 innings, striking out six batters while earning his first save under Mike Sansing.  
- For the season, Lovelady leads the team in appearances (16) and is third on the team with 27 strikeouts.
- Opponents are hitting .224 off the lefty, as Lovelady has thrown 18.1 innings out of the pen.
