THE STORYLINE: 
· The Kennesaw State baseball team dropped Wednesday's mid-week tilt against host Tennessee Tech at Bush Stadium, 24-9, in Cookeville, Tennessee in the second game of the home-and-home series.
·  The Golden Eagles produced 24 runs on 18 hits to earn the win, countering the Owls' nine-run 12 hit attack at the plate.
· With the loss, Kennesaw State dropped to 9-17 on the season while Tennessee Tech improved to 13-10.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
· The Golden Eagles scored in four frames throughout the game, including an 18-run fifth inning that managed 13 hits to pull away from the Owls.  
· Grant Williams and Griffin Helms each recorded their first home runs of the season, as Williams went deep in the second inning while Helms hit a home run in the fifth.
· The Owls managed their best scoring inning in the seventh frame, plating a crooked four runs on two hits.
· In the frame, Jake Franklin produced an RBI single and Austin Pharr's pinch-hit, base-clearing triple scored two to highlight the half inning.
· Chris Erwin—who finished 2-for-6 in the game—hit an RBI double in the eighth frame, giving him two doubles on the evening. KSU produced two more runs in the frame, with an RBI off the bats of Erwin and Helms.
· The Owls used eight pitchers throughout the game, as Drew Reeves did not allow a hit in 1.2 innings out of the pen and Erich Stahl pitched a scoreless eighth.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 
·  Grant Williams recorded his second career home run, and his first homer since May 10, 2015 against Jacksonville.
· For the sixth time this season, the Owls have hit at least two home runs in a game and the first time this season hitting three.
· Griffin Helms also recorded his second career home run, and his first of the season – with his first collegiate homer coming on Feb. 14, 2015 in the Owls' 2015 season opener and his collegiate debut.
· Jordan Getzelman hit his second home run of the season in the ninth inning.
· Logan Hicks made his collegiate debut for Kennesaw State.
· Austin Pharr produced his first collegiate triple in the seventh inning.

UP NEXT
 The Owls open Atlantic Sun Conference play at home this weekend, hosting North Florid for a three-game series at Stillwell Stadium. The series will begin at 6 p.m. on ESPN3 Friday night, as Richard Musterer and Scott Whitlock will be on the call.
