THE STORYLINE:
· Mercer scored in six different frames in Sunday's series finale, taking an 11-5 final over Kennesaw State at Claude Smith Field.
· The Bears lit up three innings for two or more runs, and totaled nine runs over a four-inning span to put the game out of reach.
· KSU's top three hitters (Chris Erwin, Jeremy Howell and Austin Upshaw) went a combined 5-for-14 (.357) with three RBI in the game.
· The loss dropped the Owls to 7-13 overall, while the Bears improved 12-8 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Mercer's offense continued to produce over the weekend, totaling 11 runs on 10 hits.
· The Bears scored in six of their eight frames in Sunday's series finale, and never trailed in the contest.
· The Owls tied the ballgame at 4-4 in the top of the fifth, coming off a two-run home run from sophomore Austin Upshaw. It was the first time in 14 games Upshaw went deep.
· An RBI single off the bat of Jeremy Howell brought the Owls with 7-5 in the top half of the seventh, giving the Dallas, Ga., native his ninth RBI of the season.
· However, after loading the bases in the seventh, Kennesaw State could not manage to cross home plate anymore, leaving the bases juiced in a key half inning.
· Three Kennesaw State errors led to four unearned runs in the seventh inning, allowing Mercer to extend its lead to 11-5.
· Jordan Versteeg made his third appearance of the season, working a scoreless eighth inning allowing no hits and just one walk.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Austin Upshaw produced his team-leading fifth home run of the season in the fifth inning, marking his first since Feb. 27.
· AJ Moore made his second start at Claude Smith Field dating back to 2015, where he made his collegiate debut.
· Three KSU pitchers were used in the game, as AJ Moore made his fifth start of the season and struck out nine batters – the same total of punch outs the sophomore recorded a year ago at Mercer.
