SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA North Florida is the defending Atlantic Sun Champion and was picked as the preseason favorite to win the league this season. In the current A-Sun standings, they are tied for first place with Jacksonville.
The Ospreys returned the majority of their team from a season ago, including A-Sun Preseason Player of the Year Beau Beach.
Point guard Dallas Moore currently leads the A-Sun averaging 19.7 points per game as well as 5.7 assists per game.
Defensively, the Ospreys are led by their big men Damarcus Daniels and Chris Davenport.
Matthew Driscoll is in his seventh season leading North Florida.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS NORTH FLORIDAKennesaw State is 16-19 against North Florida dating back to 1998 when the teams faced off for the first time. Recently, the Ospreys have dominated the series as they have won 13 straight against the Owls, including the first meeting of the season down in Jacksonville.
Home Sweet HomeThe Owls are 6-6 in the KSU Convocation Center this season matching last season's home win total. With a win against North Florida, it will be the most at home since the team won eight home games in 2009-10.
30 for 30 KSU EditionFrom the floor, the team has shot 43.7 percent from the floor and 35.8 percent from behind the arc. Both of these are considerable increases from a season ago. During the 2014-15 season, the Owls shot 40.4 from the floor while shooting 32.4 from three-point range.
Offense Clicking in Conference PlaySince A-Sun play, Kennesaw State is averaging seven more points per game than they did through non-conference play. Currently, the Owls are averaging 75.24 points per game. After the 16 non-conference games, the team was averaging 67.1 ppg.
In the nine games, KSU has have shot over 50 percent in six halves in conference play.
Two Guards Lead the WayKendrick Ray and
Yonel Brown are the highest scoring tandem in the A-Sun and they didn't disappoint against Stetson and FGCU. The two combined for 56 points against the Hatters and 51 points against the Eagles. It was the third and fourth time this season the duo combined to score 50-plus points and three other times they have both topped 40 points.
One of the two players has led the team in scoring in every game except for three so far this season.
