MBB: Owls Fall to Michigan in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. 
 – Kennesaw State men's basketball fell to the Michigan Wolverines in the Crisler Center on Saturday, December 03.
 
Kendrick Ray led the Owls once again scoring a game high 24 points. Aubrey Williams was the other KSU player in double figures with 12 points.
 
Kennesaw State got off to a good start at Michigan sticking with the Wolverines for the majority of the first half.
 
The Wolverines jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but the Owls responded behind Ray to get right back in the game. KSU took its first lead at 15-14.
 
The teams went back and forth from there until Michigan closed the final 4:29 of the opening half on a 17-2 run to take a 47-29 lead into halftime.
 
Riding the momentum they gained late in the opening half, Michigan came out in the second half and extended their lead squashing any hopes of a comeback by the Owls.

The 82-55 loss brings KSU's record to 3-6 on the seasonn.
 
Now, Kennesaw State will get a break for final exams as their next game isn't until December 14th. The Owls will take on Rider in the Gotham Classic in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

  • Ray scored over 20 points for the sixth time in nine games as he scored a game high 24 in the game. For his career with KSU, he has scored over 20 points 21 times.
  • Williams was the other Owl in double figures today. It was the seventh time this season he has scored in double figures for the Owls. Last season, Williams scored in double figures in 10 games.
  • This was the first meeting between the Owls and the Wolverines. Michigan was the second Big Ten school that KSU has played this season. Since joining Division I, the Owls have played seven games against Big Ten opponents.
