Deandrea Sawyers scored 14 points apiece, and sophomore
Allison Johnson recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Kennesaw State during a 71-61 loss to Portland State Tuesday (Dec. 20) at the Puerto Rico Classic in Las Vegas.

Gianolla's 14 points and eight rebounds were career-highs, while Sawyers reached double figures for the fourth straight game, and Johnson posted her second consecutive double-double.

The Vikings (6-4), who led 31-29 at halftime, outscored the Owls (1-10) 22-16 in the third quarter to gain the upper hand and went on to post the victory.

Portland State's Ashley Boston scored a game-high 26 points while making 16-of-18 shots from the free throw line as the Vikings converted 23-of-28 attempts from the foul line. Kennesaw State was 5-of-13 from the charity stripe.

For the second game in a row, the Owls outrebounded their opponent, 43-42, but were outscored in the paint, 38-26.
