KENNESAW, Ga. – Despite
Kendrick Ray's 24 points and
Aubrey Williams' fifth double-double of the season, Kennesaw State men's basketball came up short 88-71 against the Chattanooga Mocs on Saturday, November 26 in the KSU Convocation Center.
The Owls had three players score in double-figures as Ray put up his fourth 20-point game this year with 24, Williams had 14 and
Jordan Jones matched a career high with 12.
Both teams came out ready to play in the first 20 minutes trading blows back and forth. The Owls were hot early, scoring 18 points in the first nine minutes of action grabbing a five-point lead. Chattanooga kept it close by going 8-10 from the free throw line in the first 20 minutes.
The lead changed 12 times and the game was tied in the first half as neither team could get much separation.
After a
Kyle Clarke jumper to give KSU a 37-35 lead with 1:27 remaining in the half, Chattanooga's Greg Pryor tied up the score with two free throws and hit a three with the time winding down to put the Mocs up 40-37 at the break.
Coming out of the locker room, Jones hit a jumper to get the scoring started for the Owls, but UTC raised their defensive intensity sparking a 9-0 run to take a 10-point lead. The Mocs didn't ease up after that pushing their lead to as much as 21 in the second half before the final horn sounded at 88-71.
Anthony Wilson saw 16 minutes on the floor and grabbed a career high six rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot.
The Owls will now hit the road for three games next week starting with South Florida on Monday, November 26 at 7 p.m.

- Kendrick Ray had the most points in the game with 24. He has scored 20-plus points in four of the six games.
- Aubrey Williams notched his fifth double-double in six games this season scoring 14 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Ray was the leader on the team in double-doubles last season with four.
- It was the largest attendance of the season for the Owls with 1,031 in attendance.
- Jordan Jones 12 points tonight matched a career high for the redshirt junior.
- With the loss, the Owls are now 2-1 at home in the KSU Convocation Center.
