11/14/2016 12:14:00 PM

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State's sophomore QB Chandler Burks has been named the Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Burks had another big game in the Owls' 45-10 win over Presbyterian, completing 6-of-10 passes for 169 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. The sophomore also added 119 yards on 20 carries, marking the second time in his career that he surpassed 100 yards and 100 passing in the same game (at Furman). Burks has accounted for 22 of the team's 59 touchdowns (13 pass, nine rush) this season.

Burks, who garners his first career Big South weekly honor and the eighth by an Owl this season, led KSU to back-to-back touchdown drives to open the game versus Presbyterian, including a 36-yard toss to Chaston Bennett to push Kennesaw State's lead to 14-0 with 8:06 remaining in the first quarter.

Winners of four straight, Kennesaw State (8-2, 3-1) wraps up the 2016 regular season schedule at Charleston Southern with the Big South title on the line. The Owls have a shot to clinch a share of the league's championship with a victory over the Buccaneers. The game can be seen on ESPN and heard on ESPN Radio 1230 The Fan 2 at 11:45 a.m.
