Kennesaw State Team Notes
• Since joining NCAA Division I, Kennesaw State athletics has won six regular season championships. With two wins this weekend, the Kennesaw State volleyball team would become the seventh.
• Kelly Marcinek and Fanise Cannon have both been mainstays in the lineup over the last four years as KSU celebrates their senior day.
• Kristi Piedimonte has topped the 1,000 assists mark, Katarina Morton has hit 500 digs and Anaiah Boyer has over 300 kills. This has only happened one other time in school history and that was in 2012. That year, Sara Metroka had 1,201 assists, Camille Pedraza had 513 digs and Turea Jones had 371 kills.
• Morton is the only player in the ASUN averaging over five digs per set at 5.07. For the season, she has 507 digs. That is only six away from tying Pedraza's season record of 513 back in 2012.
• The Owls have two players that are the active ASUN leaders in kills and digs. Marcinek leads the ASUN with 1,120 kills and is second all-time at Kennesaw State, and Morton is the active leader in digs with 1,415.
• Earlier in the season, Anaiah Boyer had a streak of four straight ASUN weekly awards. The first week she was named Defensive Player of the Week and then won Player of the Week for three straight weeks. She was the first player to win three straight since Kelly Paiva of Florida Atlantic did it in 2005.
• This past weekend, Kristi Piedimonte topped the 1,000 assists mark in a season for the first time her career. She is currently 16 assists away from her 3,000th career assist.
• Piedimonte is 35th in the country and second in the ASUN with her career-high 1,035 assists this season. Her 10.45 assist per set average is the second best in the ASUN.
• Boyer is sitting with 337 kills this season. She is third in the conference in kills per set averaging 3.37. In conference play, she has stepped up even more killing the ball  3.87 times per set. Last weekend against Florida Gulf Coast, Boyer had 19 kills and 14 digs. That was her 11th double-double this season.
• In conference play, the Owls lead the ASUN in service aces with 82. The team has out aced their opponents in eight of the 12 ASUN matches. Against NJIT, Maddie Jones tied a school record with seven service aces in the match. On the season, her and Cannon are tied for the team lead with 28 aces.
• In Kennesaw State history, there are five players that have reached 30 service aces. This season alone, the Owls may have three do it as Jones and Cannon have 28 and Piedimonte has 23.
