KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State baseball team gathered in the Teasley Suite at Bobbie Bailey Athletic Complex prior to Game 3 of the Black and Gold World Series last Friday, taking time to reflect on a special 2016 season as head coach Mike Sansing passed out the team's championship rings.

Members of the 2016 ASUN Championship squad came together to reflect on winning the first regular season title in program history after finishing with an impressive 17-4 overall record in league play. The Owls were the first team since 2010 to win all seven series as Coach Sansing earned his first ASUN Coach of the Year honors.

The Owls wrapped up their fall practice with their annual Black and Gold World Series last week, with the Black squad earning bragging rights for the year after winning a decisive rubber game Friday afternoon, 4-3. Kennesaw State will return 2016 ASUN All-Conference members Gabe Friese, Austin Upshaw, Griffin Helms and Corey Greeson, and will also return Perfect Game All-American shortstop David Chabut.

Each player as well as the coaches and staff received rings.
