Owls are 5-3 at Home this Season

Thursday's game is designated as Student Appreciation Night! The first 500 students with valid student ticket will receive a free YOLO t-shirt. Students will also be able to take advantage of a 25% discount at the KSU Bookstore kiosk in the Convocation Center and a 10% discount on arena concessions with valid ID. Fifth Third Bank will have their ever-popular money machine on site for students to have the opportunity to walk away with cash! Other opportunities include coupons from DressUp, giveaways from Carl Black of Kennesaw, and two students will each win $1,000 from the Georgia Lottery. Halftime will feature the Kennesaw State Softball team as the "Softblobs."

SCOUTING FLORIDA GULF COAST                
FGCU is 12-7 overall and is off to a 3-0 start in the A-Sun after defeating Stetson, NJIT and USC Upstate.
 
On the court, the Eagles are led by Marc-Eddy Norelia and Julian DeBose. Norelia leads the team averaging 15.5 points per game and is second in the conference with 8.7 rebounds per game. DeBose is one of two seniors on this years squad.
 
Reggie Reed has taken over the point for FGCU this season. He is a freshman that is averaging four assists per game.
 
Joe Dooley is the head coach. He's in his third season.
 
Gulf Coast has won six games in a row.
 
THE ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS FGCU
Kennesaw State trails in the series 6-10 and recently FGCU has won eight straight against the Owls.
 
Racking up the Minutes
Yonel Brown not only leads the Owls in minutes, but he leads the nation averaging 38.9 minutes per game. He has played all 40 minutes in 12 of the 19 games this season, and he played 42 minutes in the overtime game against Elon.
 
Taking Care of the Ball
Against Reinhardt, Kennesaw State had a 2-1 assist to turnover ratio as the team finished with 20 assists and 10 turnovers. The 20 assists are a season high and the 10 turnovers are a season low.
 
Taking care of the ball is something that KSU has been improving on as the season has gone on. Going back, the Owls have had less than 15 turnovers in the previous
 13 of 15 games.
 
Dynamic Duo
Brown and Kendrick Ray are currently tied for fourth in the A-Sun in scoring averaging 17.6 points per game. Brown and Ray both combine to score 35.2 points per game, which makes them the highest scoring tandem in the A-Sun.
 
Offense Stepping Up
The team has been averaging 83.3 points per game since conference play started. That is 14 points above the average for the season, which is 69.7.
 
Free Throws
Brown is currently fifth in the A-Sun in free throw shooting at 81.3 percent. For his career, he has the 10th best free throw shooting average ever in the A-Sun with a career percentage of 83.9 percent.
