JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kendrick Ray led all scorers in the game with 25 points, but Kennesaw State couldn't overcome the Jacksonville Dolphins as the Owls were downed 83-70 in Swisher Gymnasium in Thursday, January 14.

KSU had two others in double figures to go along with Ray as Yonel Brown had 16 points and Nigel Pruitt had 12 points.

The Dolphins took an early 12-5 lead behind a couple of treys, but the Owls hung around with some threes of their own. With 8:38 remaining in the first half, KSU hit three straight threes to tie the score up at 30, but JU responded with a quick 6-0 run and took that lead to halftime as KSU trailed 43-37.

Coming out of the locker room, JU went on a 10-3 run to get up in double-digits and KSU attempted to come back, but couldn't get within 10 points the rest of the way.

The set back brings the Owls record to 5-13 and 1-1 in the A-Sun rankings.

KSU will stay in Jacksonville and begin preparations for North Florida. That game will be Saturday, January 16 at 7 p.m.

Coach Skinner on the Jacksonvile Game
"Today's game we had our opportunities, but unfortunately, you can't go on the road and miss layups and free throws and expect to win. We had chances and didn't take advantage of it. You have to execute well both offensively and defensively and we did not follow through. Hopefully, we can learn from this and build on it. This is always the toughest part going on the road and learning how to win, but I think we're getting close and we'll continue to grow."
 - Kennesaw State Head Coach Al Skinner
