Game Preview
The Kennesaw State soccer team will make its third-straight trip to the state of South Carolina as the Owls travel to Columbia, S.C. to face off against Southeastern Conference (SEC) foe South Carolina on Monday (Sept. 14) in Eugene E. Stone III Soccer Stadium at 6 p.m. ET. The Gamecocks are ranked No. 17 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Coaches Poll, making it the first ranked opponent KSU has played this season. 
 
This will be the first meeting between the two schools and the second SEC school the Owls have faced this season after taking on Auburn in an exhibition during the 2015 preseason. KSU owns an all-time record of 2-9 against the SEC, including wins over Alabama and Arkansas.
 
Owls Fall to Paladins 3-0 in Friday Night Action
The Kennesaw State soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Furman on Friday night (Sept. 11) at Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium in Greenville, S.C.

KSU Team Notes
- After registering her second brace of the season to lead the Owls to a 3-2 win over The Citadel on Sunday, Sept. 6, junior Cassidy Kemp earned her first career Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week honor last Monday.
 
- It was the second time this season that Kemp has posted two goals in a game as she also punched in two scores against Alabama A&M in the Owls' season opener.
 
- Kemp is tied for second in the A-Sun with five goals and is tied for third in the conference with 11 points this season, to go along with one assist in 2015.
 
- With only a pair of losses to go along with three wins and a tie, the Owls registered their best start since 2008, when KSU also started off its season with a 3-2-1 record.
 
- The Owls offense ranks in the top 12 in NCAA rankings as KSU has scored the second-most goals in the nation with 20 on the season. KSU also ranks fifth in scoring offense (3.33), eighth in total points (51) and is 12th in points per game (8.5).
 
- Kemp also ranks in the top 40 in several NCAA categories, including coming in 15th in total goals with five and is 25th in total points with 11. She also ranks 32nd in goals per game (0.833) and is 40th in points per game (1.83).
 
- The Owls lead the Atlantic Sun Conference in shots (126), shots per game (18.0), points (51), goals (20), goals per game (2.9) and corners (34).
 
- KSU has outscored its opponents by a margin of 20 to 12, while also outshooting their foes 126 to 57 through seven games this season. 
 
- Sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Zambetti has started the last four contests for the Owls, playing a team-high 408 minutes in goal and also leads the team with 17 saves.
