Brittney Reed registered a double hat trick to lead the Owls in a 12-0 drilling of Alabama A&M on Friday night (Aug. 21) at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

KSU Team Notes- The Owls' win over Alabama A&M registers the first season-opening win for the Owls since 2010 and the first home-opening win since 2011.
- KSU as a team set two program records against the Bulldogs, including the most points (32) registered in a single game and most goals score (12) in a single game.
- The Owls also had the fourth most shots (36) in a contest and their eight assists tied for the sixth-most helpers in a single game.

- Reed's six goals is just one off of the NCAA Division I record of seven goals scored in a single match - set by Sarah Comeauz of Ole Miss in 1996 and equaled by Kristen Arnott of Saint Francis (PA) in 2000.
- Reed's 12 points against the Bulldogs ranks in a tie for 13th for points in a single match in NCAA Division I history, four points off of the NCAA record of 16, set by Arnott in 2000 and equaled by Ashley Fortune of Francis Marion in 2007.
- Reed's five goals in the first half equals the NCAA Division I record for most goals in a half – tying Brittney Lyman of Colorado College, who scored five second-half goals against UTEP in 2009.
