KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team got their first win of the season against Austin Peay on Saturday (Mar. 7) at Kennworth Park.
The Owls opened their two-match weekend on a high note, dominating Austin Peay 6-1 in Saturday's contest.
Kennesaw State earned the doubles point by collecting an 8-2 win from
Virginie Stein and
Jana Hueckinghaus over Ornella Di Salvo at No. 1 and an 8-7 victory at No. 3 with
Alexandra Mercado and
Cristina Martin defeating Brittney Covington and Isabela Jovanovic.
KSU continued their run during singles play, winning five straight matches to take the victory over the Governors.
The Owls advance to 1-6 on the season and will be back in action at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (Mar. 8) to take on Arkansas State at Fair Oaks Tennis Center.
