THE GAMES:
The Kennesaw State softball team hits the road for Greenville, S.C., as the Owls take a break from Atlantic Sun Conference play with a midweek doubleheader against Furman on Wednesday (March 18) at Pepsi Softball Stadium. First pitch for game one is set for 3 p.m. ET, with game two following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Owls opened Atlantic Sun Conference action last weekend against conference preseason favorite USC Upstate. The Spartans swept the Owls  with three-straight wins and opened with a 16-3 five-inning victory on Saturday, before taking the Sunday doubleheader, 8-2 in game one and 10-1 in six innings in game two. Sophomore Taylor Denton led a .429 batting average on the weekend with three hits and two RBI, while junior Megan Veringa also added three hits and two RBI for KSU.
 
NEXT UP:
The Owls return to league play with a trip to Jacksonville, Fla., as KSU faces off against North Florida in a three-game conference series at the UNF Softball Complex this weekend. The Owls and the Ospreys will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET, before wrapping the series with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. 
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
300th Division I Win
With the Owls' 5-0 shutout against Belmont on March 9, Kennesaw State earned the program's 300th Division I win and are in their 10th season at the Division I level.
 
Upset City
The Owls defeated then-No. 5/6 Kentucky on Feb. 14 with UK representing the highest ranked opponent KSU has defeated since moving up to the Division I level.

Team Rankings, Part I
As a team, the Owls lead the conference and ranks third nationally with 11 triples, while also leading the conference with three saves and fielding double plays with 12. KSU also ranks 18th in the nation in double plays per game at 0.50.
 
Team Rankings, Part II
The Owls also rank third in the league with a .285 batting average and a .457 slugging percentage in overall play.
 
Offensive Leaders
Junior Kara Chambers and senior Natalie Rhodes have led the Owls offensively so far this season with the duo ranking in the top 10 in the conference in several statistical categories. Chambers ranks in a tie for second in triples (two) and is tied for sixth in doubles (t-sixth, seven), total bases (51) and stolen bases (nine) and is seventh in RBI (23).
 
Triples
Rhodes leads the league and ranks second nationally with six triples on the year, while also ranking in a tie for fifth in the A-Sun with 22 runs and 29 hits and is tied for sixth with nine stolen bases. Her 0.25 triples per game also ranks third in the NCAA.
 
Toughest to Strikeout
Rhodes is also ranks in the top-65 in toughest to strikeout in the nation and is 64th at 26.0.
 
Homeruns
Nine Owls have gone yard on the season, with Chambers and junior Hillary Kartman leading the way with five home runs. Junior Megan Veringa (four) and redshirt-sophomore Courtney Sutter (two) have also posted multiple homers on the season.
 
Walks
Junior Morgan Sikes has only allowed seven walks on the season to rank second in the A-Sun in that category, with her 0.89 walks per seven innings ranking 12th in the nation.
 
Saves
Sophomore Logan Viers leads the league with two saves, while also ranking 26th in the nation in that category.
