» NEWS AND NOTES
This Week in KSU Men's Basketball
»   After losing a heartbreaker to A-Sun leading Florida Gulf Coast in the final seconds of the game on Thursday night, the Owls will take on the Stetson Hatters on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. With a win the Owls will sweep the Hatters in the regular season.

KSU as a Team
»   After sweeping Jacksonville, Kennesaw State notched nine wins on the season. That is the most wins since the 2009-10 team that had 13.
»   KSU is 6-7 on its home court this season. That is the most wins that the Owls have had at home since the 2010-11 team had six. The team has one game remaining on its home floor.
»   With the A-Sun road win against Jacksonville, the Owls claimed their first conference victory of the year on the road. It is the second road win in conference play for the Owls in four years and both have been under head coach Jimmy Lallathin's watch. The first road victory came last year, when the team beat Stetson 67-63.
»   The Owls are currently second in the A-Sun in free throw percentage at .717. More importantly, the team makes them when they count the most in the final four minutes of the game. In the Owls nine wins, the team has sank free throws at a 81.9 percent clip going 59 of 72 from the line.
»   KSU out rebounded Jacksonville 44-27 Thursday night in the 78-65 victory. This season the Owls are 7-3 when they outrebound their opponents.

KSU Individually
»   Yonel Brown set a new Kennesaw State record in the second win over Jacksonville by hitting seven three pointers. The previous record of six had been tied three times by Nigel Pruitt this season. Brown got hot in the second half going 5 for 5 from behind the arc to help guide the Owls to the 13 point victory.
»   This season, the Owls have had three players win A-Sun Weekly Awards. The first two were won by Brown and Nigel Pruitt, who each won Player of the Week and the third was when Damien Wilson was named Newcomer of the Week. Before those three weekly awards, the Owls hadn't won any since the 2012-13 season.
»   Brown's consistent scoring has him third in the league averaging 15.9 points per game. In the Owls nine wins, Brown has led the Owls averaging 20.7 points per game on the offensive end. He has scored in double figures in 15 of 18 games and in 22 of the 28 games for the Owls this season.
»   Lallathin always says that Pruitt can be an x-factor if he wants to be with the way he can score. There have been three games this season he has led KSU on runs that went at least 9-0. In the latest game against FGCU, Pruitt went 4 for 4 in the first half from behind the arc and got fouled on another attempt leading to 14 points at halftime.
» Along with scoring in bunches, Pruitt has also become more physical notching 10 rebounds against North Florida and nine against FGCU. He grabbed his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against UNF.
