KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team fell 4-3 in a close battle against Georgia Southern on Saturday (Feb. 14) at the Wallis Tennis Center in Statesboro, Ga.
Kennesaw State recorded three singles victories in Saturday's match against the Eagles. Freshman
Alexandra Mercado defeated Giulia Riepe in a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 tiebreaker match at No. 4. Freshman
Cristina Martin posted a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 5 over Daria Vasekina and Sophomore
Ashleigh De Wet finished her match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Francisca Norregaard at No.6.
Georgia Southern completed the match with three singles victories of their own. The Eagles also posted wins at No. 2 and No. 3 in doubles to clinch the doubles point.
Kennesaw State now move to 0-5 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday (February 25) at 2 p.m. ET to take on Georgia State in Atlanta, Ga.
