KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to No. 71 ranked Miami on Friday (Feb. 13) at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Fla.

Kennesaw State, now 1-4 on the season, failed to score a match point in Friday's contest against the Hurricanes. Miami conquered the doubles point and continued their success with a sweep in singles play.

Sophomore David Durham won the first set of singles 6-4 over Niclas Genovese at No. 5, but could not remain on top during sets two and three; eventually taking a 7-5, 10-7 setback to finish the match.

"This was an interesting match for me, because I was facing my brother which is never easy," said head coach Eduardo Rincon. "We missed some crucial shots in doubles and started slow in singles, giving Miami an advantage. Overall, however, I believe we have improved tremendously since the first match of the season.

The Owls will be back in action on Sunday (Feb. 15) to take on Florida Atlantic at 12 p.m. ET in Boca Raton, Fla.
