Box Score (XML) | Box Score (PDF) MORGANTOWN, W.V. – The Kennesaw State men's basketball team lost to No. 20/15 West Virginia in Morgantown on Saturday, December 5.

Kendrick Ray was a bright spot for KSU, scoring 23 points on 10-16 shooting. He also pulled down six rebounds.
Yonel Brown was the other Owl in double-figure scoring with 14 points.

Kennesaw State was bothered by West Virginia's press in the first half, but also played some tough defense of there own. They forced the Mountaineers into 11 turnovers and led WVU 8-0 on fast break points at halftime. Even though they forced the 11 turnovers, WVU still led 41-24 at halftime.

For the game, the Owls caused West Virginia into 17 turnovers, which is the most they have forced in a game all season.

In the second half, it was hard for KSU to get in a rhythm because they were in foul trouble with three players fouling out before the end of the game. The Mountaineers outscored KSU 46-30 in the second half, and the final score was 87-54.

The Owls have one more game before a break for final exams when Thomas comes to town for a 7 p.m. on Monday, December 7.

Notes- This was the fourth power five school that KSU has played this season falling to 0-4 against them. They have played Alabama, LSU, Arizona State and West Virginia so far. The Owls have two more games against power five opponents playing Louisville on December 16 and Indiana December 22.
- Kennesaw State forced West Virginia into 17 turnovers in the game. That's the most the Owls have caused to this point in the season. The most turnovers KSU had forced previously was 16 against Florida A&M.

Kendrick Ray led the Owls in scoring with 23 points against the Mountaineers. It is the third game this season he has scored 20+ points, and the fourth game that he has led the team in scoring.
