SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA
West Virginia has started the season undefeated and is ranked 20th in the AP poll and 15th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Mountaineers have been downright dominant in the team's first six games. They have an average margin of victory of 30.5 points. WVU's press forces just over 22 turnovers per game.

Devin Williams and Tariq Phillip each lead the team in a couple of categories. Williams leads the team in points with 17.5 and rebounds with 11.0. Phillip has 22 assists and 15 steals on the season.

Bob Huggins is in his 34th season coaching and his ninth on the bench at West Virginia. He ranks fourth in total victories with 771 among active coaches.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS WEST VIRGINIA
This is the first time that Kennesaw State will face West Virginia.

Suffocating Defense Against FAMU
The defense against Florida A&M set the tone for the game and allowed the Owls to get a big early cushion at 17-3. KSU held FAMU to 21.74 percent shooting in the first half as they went 5-23. The 12 points at halftime was the least amount of points that KSU has allowed in a half during their time in Division I.

For the game, the Rattlers scored 41 points, which is the least amount of points allowed by the Owls in the Division I era. It was just two points off of the school record set when KSU held Clayton State to 39 in the semi-finals of the Peachbelt Conference tournament.

Floor General
After leading the team averaging 15.2 points per game a season ago, Yonel Brown has had a really strong start to the season. Through eight games, he's leading the team averaging 17.2 points per game. He's been in double figures in eight of nine games and has led the team in five of the nine games.

Brown also rarely comes off the floor for the Owls. He has played 312 minutes through seven games averaging 39.0 per game. The 348 minutes is third most in the country. Brown has played all 40 minutes in four of the nine games and played 42 minutes in the overtime game against Elon.

Winning Recipe
There are some similarities in Kennesaw State's two wins. In both games, they held their opponents under 35 percent shooting from the floor, they outrebounded their opponents and they forced more turnovers than they committed. The Owls also led both games at halftime in their two wins.

Dynamic Duo
Brown and Kendrick Ray combined for 59 points against Elon on Monday, November 30. They really caught fire in the second half combining to score 38 of the 53 points the team put on the board.

One of the two players has led the team in scoring in every game except for at Arizona State, and they have combined to have five 20-point games this season.

Ray Provides Spark
After redshirting last season because of the NCAA transfer rules, Kendrick Ray has been second on the team averaging 14.8 points per game. He has led the team in scoring in four games, and has had double-doubles in the last two games against Elon and Florida A&M. The last Owl player to have multiple double-doubles was Aaron Anderson during the 2012-13 season.
