KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State used 14-0 run to begin the second half to pull away from visiting Thomas University en route to a 70-41 victory Tuesday (Dec. 29) at the KSU Convocation Center.

The Owls (5-9) received balanced scoring as four players, led by 14 points from Jasmine McAllister, finished in double figures. McAllister, who also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season, was joined in double figures by Kelly Dulkoski (12 points), and Aareon Smith and Deandrea Sawyers, who each contributed 11 points apiece.

After leading 40-30 at halftime, Kennesaw State scored 14 straight points while holding the Night Hawks scoreless for the first 5:58 of the third quarter as they built a 54-30 lead, outscoring Thomas 22-3 in the period to take a 62-33 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Owls' offense was sparked by a strong defensive effort as Kennesaw State forced a season-high 21 turnovers held Thomas to just 24.6 percent (15-for-61), marking a season-low for an opponent this season.

Dulkoski led the Owls in the first half, scoring 12 points as she connected on 4-of-5 3-point field goal attempts.

Up Next

Coach Perry Quote
"It was a great team win for us today. Coming off the break to shoot the ball well and to play strong defense was great to see. We had a strong effort from Iceis Walker on the defensive end and she created some turnovers for some quick lay-ups. We stepped up defensively tonight, especially as a team and it was great effort on that side of the ball. I felt like we were talking more tonight and I felt good about the communication today. Our bench did a really good job tonight. The offensive boards were huge and we had some key contributions off the bench. We set a goal to block out, create turnovers and play tough throughout the game and we did just that."
 - Kennesaw State Head Coach Nitra Perry
