ELON, N.C. – After Elon guard Luke Eddy sank three free throws to force the game to overtime, Kennesaw State couldn't bounce back as the Elon Phoenix completed the comeback to win 103-93 on Wednesday, November 30.

With a little over a second left in the game, Eddy sank three straight free throws to force the game to overtime. Once in overtime, Elon outscored KSU 14-4 to seal their fourth victory of the season.

Yonel Brown led the Owls with 31 points, and Kendrick Ray had his first career double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

After trailing by three at halftime, Brown and Ray both came alive in the second half combining for 38 of the 53 points for Kennesaw State.

KSU started second half going 6-8 from the floor and took the lead back at 47-46 on a Brown three pointer.

The largest lead of the game for the Owls came when Aubrey Williams sank two free throws. The Phoenix briefly cut it to four, but with the crowd on its feet, Brown hit his fourth three of the half putting the Owls back up seven with 3:23 remaining.

With under a minute remaining, Elon started its furious comeback with a layup and a three pointer before Eddy made the three free throws to tie up the score.

In the first half, freshman Kyle Clarke provided a big boost for the Owls as he went 5-5 from the field scoring 10 points in his most extensive action early this season.

When Clarke subbed in, KSU trailed by five with 10:24 remaining. He quickly ran off six straight points to give Kennesaw State a 22-19 lead.

The Owls built a lead as large as five points twice in the opening frame before Elon went on a 10-0 run to take a five-point lead of their own.

With time winding down in the first half, Kendrick Ray beat the buzzer with a layup to make the score 39-36 at halftime.

The loss pushes the Owls to 1-7 on the season, and now return home to the KSU Convocation Center and will host Florida A&M on Wednseday, December 2 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.

Coach Skinner on the Elon Game
"We played a great 39 minutes, but unfortunately we let things get away from us. It's a learning experience for us and it's something that we can correct moving forward. The errors we made are correctable, and I like to believe that when we're in this situation again, we'll follow through. We had great execution, we were aggressive, the guys did some really nice things offensively. For the exception of a couple of plays, we did the things that we needed to do to win. This is something that we're going to build on. I've said this before, but we're going to be better in January and February than we are in November and December. The team showed a lot more confidence today than we've had in previous games."
 - Kennesaw State Head Coach Al Skinner
