KENNESAW, Ga. –  Kennesaw State used 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter to erase a seven-point deficit and rally for a 60-53 victory over New Orleans in the final game of the KSU Thanksgiving Classic Sunday (Nov. 27) at the KSU Convocation Center.

The Owls (3-4) completed the tournament 2-0 after recording a 65-53 win over Western Carolina on Saturday (Nov. 28).

Trailing 50-48 with 3:31 remaining, Kennesaw State went on a 12-3 run to close out the game and win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Senior forward Jasmine McAllister tied the score at 50-50 with 1:56 left in the game and began a 12-0 run. The Owls held the Privateers (1-3) to 1-of-17 shooting over the final 5:48 and without a field goal the remainder of game, as New Orleans finished the game 0-for-12 from the field.

Freshman Iceis Walker and sophomore Kelly Dulkoski scored 12 points each to lead a group of four players in double figures. McAllister recorded her second straight double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, while senior Kary Frye chipped in 10 points for the Owls.

KSU held a nine-point lead (32-23) at intermission despite going scoreless the final 5:42 of the second quarter. The scoring drought continued into the third quarter as the Owls did not score until 4:01 into the period when Alexis Jean scored on a layup to end a 10-0 run by the Privateers that gave them their first lead of the game at 33-32 with 6:12 remaining in the third quarter.

Coach Perry Quote
"We knew they were a scrappy team and they play with a lot of heart and energy. I felt like they (New Orleans) came out in the second half with a purpose and they are a really tough team. We had to stay with our system and we did just that. We stayed with our game plan and fought through their push in the third quarter. Kelly played great tonight. I was excited for our team and the effort we had. It was a great day."
