SCOUTING SAMFORD
Samford (1-1) heads into the contest with a bit of momentum after earning a 94-79 home victory against Auburn-Montgomery on Monday. In the Bulldogs' win, Darius Jones-Gibson scored a career-high 31 points, while Christen Cunningham (18), Matt Rose (12) and Eric Adams (10) also reached double figures in scoring. Samford outscored the Warhawks, 64-34, in the paint and 21-14 in second-chance points.

In the Bulldogs first game this season, they faced Louisville falling to the Cardinals 86-45.

Samford is led by former Kentucky star and NBA player Scott Padgett. He's in his second year with the Bulldogs.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS SAMFORD
This will only be the second time that Kennesaw State and Samford have played each other. Last season, the Bulldogs came to the KSU Convocation Center and the Owls got the win 84-71.

In the game, the Owls shot 60 percent from the floor and were led by Nigel Pruitt, who had 21 points.

Starting off Strong
After leading the team averaging 15.2 points per game a season ago, Yonel Brown has had a really strong start to the season. Through two games, he's leading the team averaging 18.7 points per game.

In the first game of the season, he scored 34 points against Alabama. Brown was one of 12 players to score over 30 points in the season opener around the country. The 34 points was the second most by any player during the opening games and was only behind Davidson's Jack Gibbs, who had 35 points.

Ray Back in Action
Through his first three games in an Owls uniform, Kendrick Ray has averaged 16.3 points per game for KSU. He scored 17 against the Tide followed up by a 25 point performance against LSU. He had his lowest output against Arizona State with only seven points.

He has really heated up later in games as he scored 15 of his 17 in the second half against Alabama and 18 points of his 25 in the second half against LSU.

Willams Provides Presence Inside
Kennesaw State outrebounded its opponents the first two games of the season and a large reason for that has been because of the play of Aubrey Williams. He has averaged 9.5 rebounds per game after leading the team with 12 rebounds against Alabama and then pulling in 11 boards against LSU.

Coming into the season, the transfer from Toledo had 15 career rebounds in his two years of action.

Staying on the Floor
Brown played all 40 minutes against the Tide in the season opener. Last season, he led the Atlantic Sun averaging 37.2 minutes per game. Brown played in 11 games last season where he never came off of the floor for the Owls.

Multiple Scoring Threats
The Owls currently have three players averaging double figures in scoring with Yonel Brown (18.5), Kendrick Ray (16.3) and Nigel Pruitt (11.7). Each of the three has been the leading scorer in one of the three games for KSU.
