KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State women's golf junior
Laura Estefenn collected her first career Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Golfer of the Week accolade after collecting her first win in a collegiate event at the 2015 Terrier Intercollegiate earlier this week, the league announced on Thursday (Oct.22).
Estefenn led the Owls to a win in the Wofford University-hosted event, as she posted the low KSU round in Tuesday's final round. Helping the Owls to shoot 292 on the last day and earn their first tournament win of the season.
The Bogota, Columbia native opened the two-day tournament with a two over par 74 before following it up with a one-under par 71 to win the tournament. For the tournament, Estefenn, led the field in birdies with 5. She also led the field in scoring on par-three's and par-4's and was tied for fifthin par-5 scoring.
Through the first four events of the season, Estefenn owns a 74.73 stroke average in her junior campaign which leads the way for the Owls so far this season.
Estefenn and the Owls will return to action at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, hosted by College of Charleston on Oct. 25-27 in Kiawah Island, S.C.
