• Kennesaw State is 5-1 at home in the KSU Convocation Center this season. A large part of that are the energetic crowds that have been there for each match. In Schunzel's three seasons, his record at the KSU Convocation Center is 19-10.
• The 1,556 fans in attendance against the Yellow Jackets set a new Kennesaw State volleyball record. • Freshman outside hitter
Sydni Shelton was named A-Sun Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week for her stellar play against USC Upstate. Shelton led the team with 23 kills hitting .377. Out of 61 attacks, she had zero errors in the match. This is the second time the freshman has had at least 17 kills with zero errors in a match.
• Since getting her first start against Georgia Tech,
Liesl Engelbrecht has come up huge in the middle as she has blocked 17 attacks in the two matches. Engelbrecht blocked seven against the Yellow Jackets and 10 against the Spartans. The 10 blocks against USC Upstate was one off the school record that
Cierra Royster set against Jacksonville in 2012.
•
Katarina Morton tied a Kennesaw State record with 31 digs against USC Upstate last Saturday. It is the second time in her career she has posted at least 30 digs and both have come against the Spartans.
• KSU leads the A-Sun in hitting percentage at .244 and is paced by Shelton who is fourth in the A-Sun hitting .339 for the year. Royster is also sixth in hitting percentage at .301.
