Carl Black of KennesawKENNESAW, Ga. (Jan. 28, 2015) – The Kennesaw State University Department of Athletics and Carl Black Chevrolet Buick GMC, Inc. announced today a multi-year sponsorship agreement. The automotive group's investment will provide significant support to KSU's Department of Athletics and its student-athletes.

"We are really excited to sign a deal of this caliber and with a dealer that is so visible in the community," Lauren Katovsky, assistant athletics director for corporate sales and marketing said. "Carl Black's experience working with other universities is vital to Kennesaw State, and Carl Black of Kennesaw will have an enhanced presence at our events and on campus in addition to providing a 'mascot mobile' for Sturgis, our live owl mascot.".Â

The terms of the three-year deal are invaluable to the Department of Athletics and include unique branding opportunities, cash and numerous vehicles for Kennesaw State's coaches and staff.

The automotive group will receive naming rights to the north stage at Fifth Third Bank Stadium and become the "Official Automobile Provider of Kennesaw State Athletics" in addition to receiving signage at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the KSU Convocation Center, Bailey Park and Stillwell Stadium, advertising in game programs, television and radio broadcasts and on KSUOwls.com, the Department of Athletics' official website.

The athletics agreement marks the first of 2015 and follows previous sponsorships agreements announced in 2014 with WellStar Health System, Henssler Financial, Superior Plumbing and LOUD Security Systems. Fifth Third Bank secured stadium naming rights in 2013.

Kennesaw State University sponsors 18 intercollegiate athletic sports and competes at the NCAA Division I level. Seventeen Owls teams compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Football will play at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Series (FCS )level and compete as an associate member of the Big South Conference beginning in 2015. KSU has won a total of six national championships at the NAIA and NCAA Division II levels. Kennesaw State became an NCAA Division I member prior to the 2005-06 athletics season.Â
