TALKING POINTS» The Kennesaw State men's basketball team will play Stetson on Thursday, January 22 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3. Last season, both games against the Hatters came down to the wire as the Owls beat Stetson in Deland, Florida, but lost in the Convocation Center.

Damien Wilson was named Atlantic Sun Newcomer of the week. He averaged 23.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the games against Northern Kentucky and Lipscomb. This is the third week in a row that the Owls have claimed an A-Sun award.
THE COMPETITIONSTETSON Stetson comes into Kennesaw with a 5-13 record overall and is tied with the Owls at 0-3 in the A-Sun standings. Senior Kentwan Smith has scored 20-plus points in consecutive games against North Florida and Jacksonville. The rest of the team is primarily under classmen. All five of the freshmen played at least 13.5 minutes per game.

The Kennesaw State men's basketball team lost a shootout against the Lipscomb Bisons 91-77 on Saturday, January 17. Wilson put up a career high 25 points along with 10 rebounds for his second career double-double.
NEWS AND NOTESThis Week in KSU Men's Basketball » The Owls play their second game in this three game home stand against Stetson at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 22 on ESPN3.
» Following the Stetson game, the Owls will host the preseason favorite in the conference, Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday at 2 p.m. It will also be on ESPN3.
KSU as a Team » Last season's 67-63 win at Stetson was the first road conference victory the Owls have had since the 2010-11 season.
Orlando Coleman came up big in the victory as he had 18 points and six rebounds in the victory.
» Kennesaw State is averaging 70.6 points at home while shooting over 44 percent from the floor. That is 12 more points and seven percentage points higher than the team averages on the road.
» With three guards on the floor, KSU plays with a fast pace and has made the 58th most threes in the nation making 137 on the season.
Nigel Pruitt takes the most three pointers and is currently second in the A-Sun in three's made with 45.
» The Owls currently lead the A-Sun in free throw percentage at .720. The team has shot at least 70 percent in nine of the past 13 games.

» Since Wilson has returned to action, he has been a force on the defensive and offensive end. He scored 25 points against Lipscomb besting his previous career high of 22 that he set the game before against Northern Kentucky. Wilson has set a new career high in scoring in five of the past six games.

Yonel Brown's consistent scoring has him fourth in the league averaging 15.4 points per game. He has scored 20-plus points in the last two games with 21 points against Lipscomb and 20 points against NKU. He has scored in double figures in ten games in a row and in 16 of the 19 games for the Owls this season.
» In the Convocation Center, Brown averages 18.6 points at home including two 30-point outings. He averages five more points at home than he does on the road.
» When Pruitt gets going he scores in bunches. There have been three games so far this season he has led KSU on runs that went at least 9-0. Against UMBC and USC Upstate, Pruitt guided the Owls on 9-0 runs and against Youngstown State he scored 14 straight points for the Owls.
