» NEWS AND NOTES
This Week in KSU Men's Basketball
»    The Owls have one more game on the road against Northern Kentucky before heading home for a three game home stand. The game against the Norse is Wednesday, January 14 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.

KSU as a Team
»    The five wins that KSU had in non-conference play is the most the Owls have had going into conference play since the team had five in 2009-10. During that season, two of those five wins came against non-division I schools. This season the Owls only have one win against a non-division opponent so far this season.
»    The winning recipe for the Owls this season has been to outrebound its opponents and to take a lead into halftime. KSU is 4-0 when it outrebounds its opponents and is 4-2 when it has a lead at halftime.
»    With three guards on the floor, KSU plays with a fast pace and has made the 53rd most threes in the nation making 123 on the season.
»    The Owls currently lead the A-Sun in free throw percentage at .714. The team has shot at least 70 percent in eight of the past 12 games.

KSU Individually
» Junior Nigel Pruitt claimed the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award after scoring 32 points against USC Upstate in the conference opener. This is the second week in a row that the Owls have won the award.
» When Pruitt gets going he scores in bunches. There have been three games so far this season he has led KSU on runs that went at least 9-0. Against UMBC and USC Upstate, Pruitt guided the Owls on 9-0 runs and against Youngstown State he scored 14 straight points for the Owls.
»    Since Damien Wilson has returned to action four games ago, he has been a force on the defensive and offensive end. Offensively, he has set a new career high in scoring in three of those games and posted his first career double-double against Illinois.
»    Yonel Brown's consistent scoring has him fourth in the league averaging 14.8 points per game. He has scored in double figures for the Owls in 14 of the 17 games and has been the leading scorer in eight of those. As well as being towards the top of the league rankings, Brown leads KSU in points scored as well as assists on the season with 55.
»    Brown also leads the A-Sun in free throw shooting making 88.0 percent of his free throws as well as in minutes played averaging 36.8 per contest.
