Coach Schunzel on Sight Seeing in NYC» "The vast majority of our team had not been to NYC, many had not even been on public transportation before, and it is without question an eye opening experience. We shuttled around the city on public transportation all day on Thursday, hopping between buses and subway cars and even getting to stop for lunch at street vendors outside of the 9/11 memorial. Going to the 9/11 Memorial and experiencing the somber-ness of the huge reflecting pools where the twin towers once stood, and seeing all those thousands of names on the memorial was something our young ladies will hopefully never forget. That stop really put things into perspective. From there, we took the subway into the heart of the city and walked in and around Times Square. The amount of people from every walk of life, the enormity of the buildings, signs and advertisements everywhere, and seeing the new year's ball were all really neat and different experiences for our team that seeing on TV can't possibly replicate."
